LABOUR HISTORY BUS TOUR
"You don’t know where you’re going unless you know where you’ve been."
The Windsor Labour Bus Tour was an event first organized a few years ago as part of the Windsor Labour Arts Festival. This tour proved so popular that the Labour Studies program at the University of Windsor has decided to conduct the tour as a separate special event.
This tour is open to all individuals in the community interested in learning more about the history of Windsor workers and the labour movement in this community. The tour focuses on visiting sites within the areas of Walkerville and Old Ford City. We will take a look at the many struggles of working people, the strikes, forgotten histories, health and safety battles, the Ford Blockade, and working class immigrant neighbourhoods from the 1890s to present day.
